I’ve got a little bit of a predicament concerned with my friend, and the man’s name is James. No, I’m only kidding. He isn’t the actual problem, and yet his issue has become my problem. You see, James has a more than minor dependency difficulty which I am helping him cope with and it’s never easy. James is actually my very best friend, he has been my very best friend for about 8 years now. I can’t picture life without him, but I nearly had to. James got to be a really substantial alcoholic after his girlfriend for 4 years dumped him. I realized this was actually a risk, it’s a tendency that his family has. Anyway,Anyway, his girlfriend broke up with him, the woman he imagined he was actually likely to marry, and he began consuming alcohol in order to reduce the ache when nothing else helped. He could have guys night along with us and blow things up in video games and get loads of pizza, he could have awesome dinners made by me and be treated to a movie, he could sleep together with random girls he connected with at the bar, he could actually be surrounded by all the people who love him, yet absolutely nothing helped. Nothing helped except for alcohol within his mind.
Once this guy lost his job and was hardly functional because of the alcoholism, i actually had to be able to act. I fought with him over this subject though I eventually got him into treatment needed for alcoholism. He was inside there for a little more than a month and consequently came back out alcoholism-free. However, I don’t know exactly how they let him check out from that center since this guy was still an addict of some kind. In the man’s treatment, this guy had opiate pain killers for the withdrawal from alcohol symptoms. He became addicted to those pain relievers and these individuals presented him some everyday. When he came back out, he some how located a way in order to have those types of pain killers for home and started abusing them. Shouldn’t this particular rehab center have seen that coming? I suppose it’s my failing for finding a bad center for him.
Anyway, currently this person has the addiction to opiate pain killers and consistently acts like an idiot merely because of them. He is certainly not well balanced or possibly sane. He is actually unhealthy and also simply numb. He needs a lot more help, however this specific time, it’s got to end up being the right help. What this guy has, this kind of addiction to opiate pain killers because of the earlier addiction to booze is known as cross-addiction. So I ask, what is the best treatment available for cross-addiction? And I mean, exactly what will be the ultimate treatment for cross-addiction? I’m not really fooling around. This my best friend and this person needs support like no tomorrow. So someone help me help him.
