Teen Idol Leif Garrett Journey to Sobriety

Leif Garrett is widely known as a 1970’s teen idol. However, Garrett’s legal problems have stalked him from the evening this individual destroyed his automobile while driving intoxicated and Quaalude. The wreck eventually left his good friend disabled and cost Garrett over $7 million in a negligence lawsuit.

Ever Since, Garrett has been arrested many times and been to rehab several times also. His substances of choice stemming from his arrests appear to be heroin and cocaine. Beating the addiction has been hard on him yet his career has not been penalized due to the addiction. His career has been consistent, although it did slow down after 2000 as he has gotten older. He joined the cast of Celebrity Rehab with Jeremy London and Jason Wahler and exposed the program for requesting him to use illegal substances so they could tape his addiction. Leif stated that it took little effort or convincing for him to agree to use for the crew.
